Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

“And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”

And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”” - Revelation 4:8-11 NASB

“When we understand the character of God, when we grasp something of His holiness, then we begin to understand the radical character of our sin and hopelessness.” ~ R C Sproul

Holiness is such a difficult term for us to understand... to even really fathom.

Webster’s defines “holiness” like this:
n. 1 "The state or quality of being holy; perfect moral integrity or purity; freedom from sin; sanctity; innocence.
Who is like thee, glorious in holiness!"
2 "The state of being hallowed, or consecrated to God or to his worship; sacredness.
Israel was holiness unto the Lord."

“Perfect moral integrity or purity; freedom from sin”- something that we can never attain or obtain on our own. Something we can strive for and never get without the help of the Holy One... without the help of the One that the winged living creatures continually speak about and worship in heaven... the one that the 24 elders worship as He sits on His throne.

Holiness is not something we can obtain on our own, but with Jesus, the Holy One, we can become holy for He is holy. Through His love, grace, mercy, forgiveness and our trust and belief in Him, we are made holy... found spotless... washed clean.... forgiven. No matter the sins. No matter the failures. No matter what. If we trust and believe in the One who bled and died for you and me, we will become clean.

And we will worship and sing...

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
