In What You Do
“Oh, praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord,
you who serve at night in the house of the Lord.
Lift up holy hands in prayer,
and praise the Lord.
May the Lord, who made heaven and earth,
bless you from Jerusalem.” - Psalm 134
What’s this Psalm bring to mind?
~ Praise Him In What You Do ~
As Pilgrims ascended the hill on their way to the temple, they would see the Levites working in the temple. Protecting it day and night. They saw what the Levites did as an act of worship, worshiping the Lord in what they did and how they did it. And the Pilgrims would sing about it on their ascension to the temple.
“Lift your hands in holiness and bless the Lord.”
The Levites they sang about reminding us even today that working as if working for the Lord is an act of worship. Working for Him and His glory is worship. Working for Him in reverence and awe is an act of worship. Protecting the Word and defending the faith is an act of worship.
Though we may see it as just another job or just something that gives us a paycheck, working as if working for the Lord is an act of worship. It’s all about perspective. It’s all about our heart.
Beginning today, worship Him in what you do. Work as if working for the Lord.
