Dogs and Their Masters
Great Day Addendum friends and readers - The following is another one of my favorites from the past 22 years of writing the GDA if for no other reason than the memories of Ginger the Dog and the lessons of faith and unconditional love that she taught me with her life and actions.

Have you ever noticed how often a dog and its master seem to match?
You know... you’ve most likely seen it too... the dog and the human start looking a like. Maybe it’s the dog they most relate to and type of dog they choose. Maybe it’s in the body structure or their eyes, or even their smiles, but the dog and the human start looking like each other. It’s really quite funny sometimes if you stop and take it in.
Back in early December of 2014 or 15, my family and I, including Ginger the Dog, went to a beautiful gardens-type park in Tallahassee to have some family pictures taken. The setting was beautiful with 100 year oak trees sprinkled with Spanish Moss growing tall and strong along a beautiful lake. In the Spring the gardens are filed with flowers and flowering plants. In December the beauty of the trees, plants and shrubbery behind the flowers is evident.
As our friend continued to snap some pretty cool family pictures, we decided that it was time to allow our personality to show a little bit and take some shots with us in funny poses or making funny faces. In one such pose, it became evident that Ginger the Dog was, in fact, my dog.With everyone in the family making their favorite “selfie” pose, some how Ginger and I made the exact same pose. Same cock of the head. Same sideways opened mouth smile. Same silly look back toward the camera.

As Believers and Followers of Christ, we are called to take on His image. Called to become more and more like Him. Called to be transformed into His image.
That means that we should love as He loves. Touch as He touches. Respond as Jesus responds. The things that break His heart should break ours.
As we come to know Jesus more and more, we will begin to take on His traits, His character, His image.
And soon, almost like a dog takes on the traits on the image of their master, we will take on the image of Christ. So all the world will see and know Jesus in us.
