Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Constant

Constant

I think today’s text is important for us to read and know.

Just after Jesus was called up to heaven to be seated with God, the Father and just before Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit, we see the remaining disciples together, constantly in prayer.

“They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.” - Acts 1:14 NIV

Before God moved mightily through the Holy Spirit. Before Peter addressed the crowds and the number of Believers in Jesus grew by the thousands, the disciples were together constantly in prayer.

Constantly.

This is not the first time that we have seen prayer lead to great miracles:

Jesus praying in Gethsemane prior to the blood and the cross... and the resurrection

Jesus praying on the mountainside just after the feeding of the 5000 men (not counting the women and children) and just before His walking on water (and Peter walking on water ever so briefly too).

This is not the only time that we, the reader, are reminded to pray constantly... to pray without ceasing.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV

Seems to me that if we want to see revival... that if we want to see God do a great work... if we want to see God move, then it begins with us on our knees in prayer (individually and together).

Constantly.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem

“Therefore, you should pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
Your name be honored as holy.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And do not bring us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
[For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]”
- Matthew 6:9-13 HCSB
