Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

“Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” - Proverbs 14:34 NLT

“This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”— and I am the worst of them all. But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.” - 1 Timothy 1:15-17 NLT

“Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners - and I am the worst of them all.” - These words from Paul to Timothy resound. They show the humility of a sinner saved by grace called to share the Gospel so others might be saved.

And the Proverbs verse... a reminder to a great nation that Godliness is what makes a nation great. And when we get away from that, when we turn our back on God and walk in a way opposite of His ways and His truths, then how can we expect Him to continue to bless? How can we expect Him to continue to make us a great nation?

“Sin is a disgrace to any people.”

Yet, it’s not too late for us to be forgiven. It’s not too late for us to turn from our wicked ways. It’s not too late for us to realize that we can believe in Him and receive eternal life... receive forgiveness... regain our hope... regain our focus on God and His plan for our lives and His plan for our nation.

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

You see, we have a choice to make. And yes, sin is a choice. We have a choice to make. We can continue to remain silent. Continue the slide away from Jesus and His values. Continue to allow sin to become “good” and “good” to some how become bad and wrong. We can continue to allow Gray to become the color of the day and the color of our actions (or non-action.) We can continue to allow evil to have its way in and around our lives.

Or we can stop and take a stand. Take a stand for Christ. We can stop and let Jesus rule our lives and begin, once again, to allow Him to shine in us and through us and around us. We can allow Him to seep into our decision making and choices. We can allow Him to be Savior and Lord of our lives.

We, the people, have say to allow Jesus to be Lord of our nation.

It begins and ends with us... and our hearts. Us humbling ourselves and turning from our evil ways. Us seeking and finding. Us and our relationship with Him.

You see... If we seek Him, He will be found by us.

The focus of salvation is not on what we were, but what we have become and are becoming in Christ.
