With You
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
There’s something comforting about the last sentence of today’s passage. Jesus is giving His disciples (and us) the Great Commission - to make disciples, baptize them and teach them. And then He says this:
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Let’s praise Him for that fact. Praise Him for He is always with us and never leave us. And never will.
Let’s praise Him for what He has called us to do and be in that Great Commission... and praise Him that He will never leave us as we strive to live it and do it.
Let’s praise Him for who He is and what He has done... and for knowing who we are. And though we have our strengths, our weaknesses and our failures, He is with us. Through the peaks and the valleys, He is there.
Let’s take comfort in knowing that He is near and will never leave us nor forsake us.
Let’s praise Jesus - for He is Immanuel, God with us.
