Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Trust (For Someone)

Trust (For Someone)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths” - Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

I’m not sure why, but I seem to have this overwhelming feeling to share this passage today.

Maybe someone (you and me) needs to hear it and understand...

  • That God has their back.

  • That God knows what they are going through.

  • That they should stop for a moment and remember to trust in the Lord with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding.

  • Stop for a moment and acknowledge Him

  • That He shall direct their paths/make their paths straight.

You see, all too often, when we are facing the valleys and struggles of life…
Or are going through a minute or an hour of darkness…
Or find ourselves in a moment of questioning, wondering, worrying…
We try to handle it all on our own...
In our own strength...
In our own minds and hearts.

So, instead of dwelling on God and relying on Him in those moments, minutes, hours… we dwell on ourselves.

But God, through this Proverb, reminds us to trust in Him with all that we are are (all of our heart) and lean not on our own understanding. In all that we are, acknowledge Him, dwell on Him, rely on him, and He will direct our paths (make them straight).

It’s easier said than done sometimes... but stop and take a moment.
And be reminded to trust in Him.
His ways are not always our ways.
His thoughts not always our thoughts.
He sees and knows what’s on the other side of the moment...
the other side of the valley.

Trust Him now... Meet Him there.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB
