Chase the Lion
"Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He struck down Moab's two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion." 2 Samuel 23:20 NIV
Reaching your goals and dreams takes more than just doing what is expected of you, as good and as hard as that may be.
Exceeding your goals and dreams is about doing what is expected and then some.
It's about taking personal responsibility for it.
It's about owning it.
It's about more than just dreaming Big Dreams.
It's about dedicating yourself to doing exceedingly more than what is expected.
It's about striving to reach and exceed those Big Dreams.
It's about attacking those Dreams.
It’s not about being afraid that you may not reach them.
Nor is it being afraid that you might actually reach and exceed your Goals and Dreams. A different kind of fear. But fear nonetheless.
Fear is the enemy.
Fear is of the enemy.
Fear is the opposite of faith.
Fear makes us think, "What if I don't..."
"But what if you do?"
That's how the great ones think.
That's what makes them great.
They do what it takes to make themselves better... Plus a little bit more.
You've got a higher calling.
Go and do what it takes to make it happen for Him and His glory.
Oh and whatever happened to Benaiah?
He returned victorious from that pit...
Later, He became one of King David's mighty men and commander of his 3rd rotational army. He then helped David's son Solomon become king, killed Solomon's enemies, and served as the chief of Solomon's army.
Obediently chase after what you’re called and gifted to do...
Chase that lion into that pit on that snowy day...
And watch what the Lord will do with it.
Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
