Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your gentleness (reasonableness) be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand (near); do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication (petition) with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 4:4-7

Even with all that 2023 has and has not been, may this be a time to remember the love, blessings, mercy and grace God has given... and the family, friendships, laughter and joy He has brought into our lives.

“In ordinary life, we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.”
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”
- John F. Kennedy

“If you are really thankful, what do you do? You share.”
- W. Clement Stone

"Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it."
- William Arthur Ward

“We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count.”
- Neal A. Maxwell

“Perhaps it takes a purer faith to praise God for unrealized blessings than for those we once enjoyed or those we enjoy now."
- A.W. Tozer

“The unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings."
- Henry Ward Beecher

“Careful for nothing, prayerful for everything, thankful for anything."
- Dwight L. Moody

“Thanksgiving is a very important holiday. Ours was the first country in the world to make a national holiday to give thanks."
- Linus (Charlie Brown)

“In the year 1621, the Pilgrims held their first Thanksgiving feast. They invited the great Indian chief Massasoit, who brought ninety of his brave Indians and a great abundance of food. Governor William Bradford and Captain Miles Standish were honored guests. Elder William Brewster, who was a minister, said a prayer that went something like this: 'We thank God for our homes and our food and our safety in a new land. We thank God for the opportunity to create a new world for freedom and justice." - Linus' Thanksgiving Prayer

From my family to you and yours… Happy Thanksgiving!

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
