Going There
“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.” - Psalm 9:1-2 ESV
With 4 days until Easter,
I find myself already going there...
Already going to the triumphant entry... to the bread and the wine...
Already going to Gethsemane
to the blood-like sweat
and the kiss
Already going to the crowds,
the beatings,
the thorns,
the blood...
Already going to the cross...
to the death...
to the sealed and guarded tomb…
Already going to that morning three days later…
Then these questions run through my mind:
“Why?”
“Why did He have to go through all of that?”
“Why did people hate Him so much?”
“Were they that afraid of the Nazarene?”
“Was there any other way for us to be forgiven?”
“And today… why do you trust Him?”
“Why do you Praise Him?”
Then I find myself taking a moment
To stop.
And breathe.
And dwell on the Lamb.
To be reminded.
Praise Him for the day
Praise Him for the blood
Praise Him for the cross
Praise Him for the life He gave
Praise Him for the death
Praise Him for forgiveness
Praise Him for His grace
Praise Him for the Resurrection
Praise Him for the love
Praise Him for the victory
Praise Him for the hope
Praise Him for He is worthy
Worthy of all honor, glory and praise.
Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
“As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
