Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Encourage One Another

Encourage One Another

“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.”
- 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 HCSB

Encourage one another. I’ll say it again...

Encourage one another.

All too often we walk alone (or so it seems).
We walk with Jesus.
We know He walks with us.
However, in the day today flesh and blood, we tend to walk alone.

Sure, we can have prayer partners, accountability groups, small groups or whatever we may call them.
A place where we can share our prayer needs.
A place where we feel safe to talk about Jesus and what He is doing in our life.

Yet, for most of the day, the week, the month, the year, we walk alone.

For most of us it’s a choice.
We only allow or want to allow folks to get so close.
To see just so much of us.
We enjoy the solitude after spending the day in the crowd.
We can smile and schmooze, and work the room.
We work well in the large or small group, or even independently.
But when it comes to things of faith, we tend to walk alone.

Thus, time and time again, we are reminded to encourage one another.
Reminded to take time out of our busy days and encourage fellow Believers.
Pray for them, support them, love on them, let them know that who they are and what they do matters.
Walk along side one another and take on one another’s burdens.
A cord of 2 or 3 is stronger than one.
Encourage one another.

Encourage one another in the moments of strength and the moments of weakness (or darkness).
Encourage one another to stay strong.
Encourage one another to continue the journey and walk humbly with the Lord.

Encourage one another to keep the faith.

Be an encourager...
Accept that encouragement from others…
Build up one another...
Be encouraged.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
