Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

In The Silence

In The Silence

Silence
Can be deafening
Prayers
Echoing off the ceiling
Feeling nothing
Hearing nothing
Longing for something
Anything
Silence

Let’s praise the Lord even if we don’t feel it. Even if we feel like we are a million miles away.

Let’s face it, there are times when we feel like David felt in the Psalms. When we feel like God is silent and distant.

Praise Him anyway.

Remembering that our faith is more than a feeling or an emotion.

There were some 400 years between the days of Malachi and the beginning of Matthew and Luke. 400 years when God was silent and distant.

Then suddenly…

The angels appeared above the shepherds in the field.
Shepherds.
Dirty, smelly shepherds.
Outcasts.

To the drudge of society God’s message was announced. The Great Light had come. The Savior was born.

God silent no more.

And the shepherds ran to see the Child born in a manger. And told all they came in contact with the message the angels had first told them.

Let our praises pierce the silence. And soon we’ll realize He’s been right beside us all along.

Tell the world around us.
Praise Him.
Worship Him.
Adore Him.
Remember His Word
Remember His promises.
Remember all that He has done.
All that He has brought us through.
All that He is yet to do.

Immanuel. God with us. Silent no more.

Praise the Lord. The Savior has come.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.”
