Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” 
- Philippians 4:4-9 NIV

There is so much great wisdom in these 6 verses. So much direction on how we should live as Believers... as followers of Jesus Christ.

Let’s take a look:

  • Rejoice in the Lord always (I’ll say it again: Rejoice!)

  • Let Your gentleness be evident to all

  • Don’t be anxious about anything

  • Pray about everything (pray & petition God with a thankful heart)

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Wow... That’s pretty clear.

Then beginning in verse 8, it lists the things we should think on/dwell on:

  • Whatever is true

  • Whatever is noble

  • Whatever is right

  • Whatever is pure

  • Whatever is lovely

  • Whatever is admirable

  • If anything is excellent

  • If anything is praiseworthy

The cool thing about this list, as I’ve said before, is that they are all descriptors of Jesus... they all express His character... and who He is.

As we live and deal with day to day life, the happenings around us and in the world that we live, let us take hold of this wisdom and incorporate it into our day to day lives... striving to be like Christ and shining His light on the world around us.

Dwell upon these things...
