What's Needed

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

“Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world. Red and Yellow. Black and White. They are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.”

For some reason this song has been running through my head today. 

Maybe it’s because of the war in Israel and the one in Ukraine, and all the junk going on in the world right now. 

Maybe it’s the blizzards and tornadoes, the volcanoes, the earthquakes, the wildfires, the floods the civil unrest, the hate, the disdain, the religious persecution and racism running rampant in my country and around the world

Maybe I just needed the reminder...

Love…. everything begins and ends with love:

Loving the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength
Loving our neighbors as ourselves
Loving as we are loved
Loving the poor, the weak, the brokenhearted and the down trodden

And putting that love into action... just as Jesus put His love for us into action on the cross.

In love, there is no room for prejudice, hate, abuse, divisiveness, or taking advantage of others.

In love, there is room at the foot of the cross.

How we can we better show our love… our love for Jesus… our love for others?

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.”

It begins and ends with love... 

It’s what’s needed in this crazy world.
