Opening Night
“Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.”
- Luke 22:34
Yesterday’s opening Olympic ceremony should be a reminder to all who call upon the name of the Lord that…
1) Just like days of old, there are spiritual forces of evil at work - In France, in the USA, in the world as a whole.
2) The enemy hates Jesus… and anyone who claims Jesus as Lord (that means you and me).
3) It’s important for us as Believers to talk about and share the truth of Jesus to the dark world around us.
We’re called to “go therefore… ” and to “love your neighbor as yourself…”
Jesus was mocked, beaten and killed for a world that today still mocks Him, still hates Him, still questions and berates His love, His mission and His Lordship… and yet, He loves us anyway, died for us anyway, resurrected for us anyway.
We should take last night’s mockery and transform that into a motivation, a mission, a passion for the lost and the mockers.
Will we answer that call… even as the mockers still mock?
Keep the Faith… Carpe Diem
