Why?
“As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” - Luke 19:37-40 ESV
With 4 days until Easter, I find myself already going there...
Already going to the triumphant entry... to the bread and the wine...
Already going to Gethsemane... to the crowds, the beatings, the crown of thorns, the blood...
Already going to the cross... to the death... to the empty tomb...
And then finding these questions running through my mind:
"Why would He go through all that for you? For us?"
“Why?”
“Why do you Praise Him?”
“For what is He praiseworthy?”
Then I find myself taking a moment to stop.
And breathe.
And dwell on the Lion and the Lamb.
And allow myself to be reminded.
Praise Him for the day
Praise Him for the blood
Praise Him for the cross
Praise Him for the life He gave
Praise Him for the death
Praise Him for forgiveness
Praise Him for His grace
Praise Him for His Resurrection
Praise Him for the victory!
Praise Him in this time and place
Praise Him
For He is worthy of our praise.

“We all know the verse, John 3:16. “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.” Yes, God so loved the world, but God did this for you! God so loved YOU, that he gave His only Son…
The cross that Jesus Christ died on was your cross, it was my cross. The beating belonged on my back. The crown of thorns belonged on my head. It was my guilt that he was condemned for. It was my sinscaused his beating. And it was my rebellions that got him crucified.
And why did Jesus do this? So you could go freeand so that you could be healed and so that you could live.”

“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.” - Psalm 9:1-2 ESV
